Escape and Fire Staircases - Straight-Flight Staircase with Two Columns in the Stairwell Core
The centrally positioned columns within the stairwell core lend the entire structure a distinctive character—provided that a reliable structural connection to the building can be established. In such designs, the roles are clearly defined: the building supports the staircase, not the other way around.
There is also the option to apply coatings beyond the standard hot-dip galvanization in order to improve the corrosion resistance of individual staircase components. (For tread surfaces, the necessity of such coatings must be assessed separately.)
If the treads themselves require coating, warranty for the coating is excluded due to the high mechanical load they are subjected to. The decision to apply such a coating lies entirely with the customer. A color coating, however, allows for better integration of the staircase into the overall architectural color scheme of the building.
Implementing such designs is a challenge we are always glad to take on.
